BURNEY FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING
PERTAINING TO CALLING A SPECIAL DISTRICT ELECTION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at 3:00 p.m., in the Board Room of the Burney Fire Protection District (District), 37072 Main Street, Burney, California, the Board of Fire Commissioners will conduct a public hearing to consider adopting a resolution calling for a special district election on November 5, 2024, to submit to the voters a proposed ordinance that would impose a special parcel tax on nonexempt parcels of real property in the District for the purpose of funding rescue, emergency medical care and transportation, hazardous material emergency response, and fire protection services.
At the public hearing, the Board of Commissioners will hear and consider all comments and may adopt the resolution calling an election. All interested persons are invited to attend the public hearing and speak on this matter. All interested persons are also invited to submit written comments to the District Secretary at or prior to the public hearing. Written comments that are mailed should be mailed to the address listed below in sufficient time for the District Secretary to receive the comments prior to the hearing.
A copy of the proposed resolution calling an election is on file in the office of the District Secretary and open to public inspection. PERTAINING TO ADOPTION OF A FINAL BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2024-2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the Burney Fire Protection District (District), 37072 Main Street, Burney, California, the Board of Fire Commissioners will conduct a public hearing to consider adopting a Final Budget for FY 2024-2025.
This notice is given pursuant to Section 13893 of the Health and Safety Code, which requires that a District shall adopt annually, following noticed public hearings, a budget by June 30th. The Final Budget is available for inspection at the District office between the hours of 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
All affected agencies and interested parties may appear and testify at the public hearing. The hearing is officially set for 3:00 p.m., and will commence as soon thereafter as the business of the Board will allow.
